Georgia Canine Coalition, Inc.

The Georgia Canine Coalition, Inc., has a membership of All-Breed and Specialty Breed Clubs, Hunting, Herding, Obedience, and Training Clubs and individual members, representing approximately 25,000 dog owners, handlers, breeders, and judges throughout the state of Georgia.

Facts

The Georgia Canine Coalition, Inc. (GCC), was incorporated in 2004 as an organization dedicated to responsible dog ownership in the State of Georgia through communication, education, and fair legislation. The GCC accomplishes it's mission by sponsoring informational programs; monitoring legislation on the state, county and municipal levels; and advancing favorable legislation.

The GCC supports fair legislation governing animal abuse and neglect. The GCC opposes legislation that will restrict dog ownership, restrict breeding and eliminate canine activities.

The GCC is composed of concerned and informed individuals and dog-related organizations throughout the State of Georgia. It is also supported by generous individuals and animal-related organizations. The GCC welcomes individuals and dog-related organizations who espouse the goals of the GCC.

Impact

The GCC is dedicated to protecting Human/Canine activities which provide for varied emotional and physical needs. These activities contribute largely to a thriving local economy; veterinarian services, dog food, pet supplies, grooming, and training. The economy is also bolstered through the use of therapy and assistance dogs, local shows, obedience and agility trials, hunting, herding or other canine competitions.

Contributions

The GCC accepts contributions from private sources, individuals, member clubs, veterinarians and a variety of animal-related organizations. Contributions are used to fund legislative activities, education and communication in support of the rights of Georgia dog owners.  Due to our lobbying efforts, contributions are not tax deductible as charitable donations.  Consult your tax advisor to determine if they are deductible as business expenses.

Dedicated Volunteers

The GCC Board is composed of dedicated volunteers. The board and officers serve without pay.
